It's easy to use, robust and I dare you not to fall in love with it's interface. and the new version is even better than the previous versions because it now has a ruler and an ellipse tool as well as custom brushes with which you can create textures to draw with and save.Īll in all if you want to create amazing art with your computer look no further than Sketchbook Pro 2010. The only other one that comes close is Scribble and that's not advanced enough to warrant using it professionally. Painter, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Artrage, Twisted Pixel and any other graphics app out there can't do pencil well. ArtRage's pencil tool is terrible whereas SBP's pencil tool is without a doubt the closest thing to the real lead and rubber original you will find on the market. Anyone who can paint can draw but not everyone who can draw can paint so I would suggest that you get SBP instead because it allows you to draw and paint. ArtRage is a fine tool but all it does is paint. Let's see you do that with Photoshop! One other reviewer suggested that ArtRage was cheaper so you should buy that.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or a digital newbie, the simple-to-use interface will have you up and drawing in 10 minutes. I know there are SketchBook fans here and they'll probably bag this review, but I'm sticking with my opinion. Aside from the administrator's first post in June 2010 (it's the end of August 2010 now) there wasn't a single post. So I went to the SketchBook forums to pose my questions.
AUTODESK SKETCHBOOK PRO 6 REVIEWS TRIAL
Price - 15-day trial, 29.99 per year subscription, 85.00 Enterprise per year subscription ( comparison, scroll down their page) Notes - The demo has very limited features unless you sign-up for the 15-day trial with an account. Program - Autodesk SketchBook ( Autodesk, Inc.) Tested version - v8.5.1. I called Autodesk's customer support with a couple questions and they just told me to go to the forums. 0Comments Art Review: Autodesk SketchBook. I thought it took up a lot of real estate for what it was. I also wasn't that impressed with it's 'lagoon' toolbar. If you're expecting any kind of conventional drawing package features such as shapes etc. I suppose this is good provided you are ONLY sketching and don't ever want to change the color (or line thickness etc) after you've lifted the pen and seen what you've got. I also had the desire to drop down some text on my freehand technical drawing sketch but there is no way to enter text! I get that it'll be converted to pixels and not editable afterwards, but still. There is a way to draw ovals, but it's pretty obtuse and no other kind of shape at all is supported. you can't change the color! As previously reported in the MacUpdate reviews, there is no way to draw any kind of rectangle. I drew some random squiggle and then decided I wanted it to be a different color. However, I'm way frustrated at the lack of some bog-simple features.

There's still an Enterprise license of SketchBook available to purchase on Autodesk's website for $10 per month or $85 per year-but the features of the software are the same as the normal version. As far as scribbling and painting is concerned, this is an OK tool.

AUTODESK SKETCHBOOK PRO 6 REVIEWS FULL
The full feature set does still require an Autodesk account, but that's also free.

Up until this month, certain features-the majority of the app's brush presets, for example-were only available as part of a subscription plan that cost $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Autodesk SketchBook is now completely free.
